Why MS Access?
Where do we start?

"Comcraft were also great with making further suggestions to our requirements. Many of these suggestions were incorporated into the databases and have turned out to be incredibly useful."

Examples of our databases

Below are some screen shots of Access databases we have developed for our customers. Click on the pictures to see a full size image.

This customer receives hundreds of purchase orders per month via email. By pressing one button ("Import Orders") this database:

1. Launches Outlook
2. Scans the subject of all new emails for "internet order"
3. Reads and interprets the content of the emails
4. Imports the orders into the database

Press one more button ("Sales report") and the user can see sales figures for the UK, EU and US with a V.A.T. breakdown for that month. This small area of the database saves hours of labour per month.

Office Automation - This form completely automates the mail merge features of Word.

The user can quickly select a group of people based on location, one or more business sectors and which mailing list they subscribe to, and then print a personalised letter or address label for each one. This one form can save hours of labour.

A screen grab from a database developed for a lithographic printer. This system manages all customer records, estimates, sales orders, stock control,  production documents and delivery notes.

When creating an estimate the user can manually edit either of the "Mark up" fields or even the "Total" field. Any changes to these fields are immediately reflected in adjacent fields, quickly showing the profitability of the job.

When the "Map" button on this form is pressed a website is launched showing the location of the contact based on their post code.

To avoid waste, this form allows a sheet of labels to be re-used by selecting which labels to print to.

When the "Print Estimate" button is pressed, each copy of the estimate is automatically either printed, or emailed to each supplier.
